Back Next
We have been to some very nice places, and really want to go back as soon as we can! Here are a few of them.......

This is only two miles from our house. They have lots of interesting activities, and it's FREE to go in.
You can go down the coal mine. We went down deeper than the height of Blackpool Tower, then walked a mile along the tunnels. We weren't scared, but we got covered in coal dust. The picture shows Bethany after coming back up.
They also have a little train that runs round the grounds and real pit ponies.
We go there so often, that the staff brought Bethany a present when she was in hospital having her liver transplant, and she cut the ribbon to open their Gala Day in 2009.
This is a long way from our house, but it's worth the journey! It's in Retford, near Worksop. Everything is specially designed for under-10s!
Bethany discovered it on a school trip, and we've been back several times.
There are a few of these around the UK; we went to the one in Manchester with a group of friends.
We rode the donkeys and enjoyed ourselves in the play areas.
The aims of the EST are to bring enjoyment and pleasure into the lives of children with special needs and to give them the satisfaction that comes with the achievement of learning riding skills.
Riding skills are taught by qualified riding instructors using the donkey because of its placid nature. In addition, children are encouraged to groom and care for the donkeys.
We first went to Donna's Dream House when Bethany was very poorly, before she had her liver transplant. It's a place in Blackpool where children who are very ill can go for a holiday with their families.
There is a fantastic playroom, a seven-seater hot tub, and they give you tickets to the Zoo, Sea Life Centre, Blackpool Tower, the waxworks and some other places.
There is also a small cinema in the garden, where you can watch DVDs or play with a Nintendo Wii on a giant screen!
Our Daddy runs their website for them. If you know someone who is very poorly, maybe they could go with their family?
There are a few Gulliver's
theme parks around the UK.
In July 2009 we went to the
one in Matlock Bath,
Derbyshire.
Our friends Ethan and Reece were there, and we had a wonderful time.
The pictures show Bethany on the chairlift with Ethan's dad and on the water chute with Reece's mum.
We enjoyed it so much that we want to go back as soon as we can!
WARNING TO PARENTS - most of the rides in here require an adult to ride with each child and seats are in pairs! If you are a single adult with two children, you will find yourself doing every ride twice, each time leaving behind an unaccompanied child! This place is really only suited if you take children and adults in equal numbers!!!
The Wesley Playhouse is a fantastic play-gym in Howden Clough Methodist Church, halfway between Morley and Birstall in West Yorkshire.
They are open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and it only costs £3.00 to go in. (They do birthday parties on Saturdays). Every Tuesday it's closed for deep cleaning - it's spotless!
They have a cafe where you can get sandwiches, jacket potatoes and drinks.
We had our last three birthday parties in there, and because Bethany had just had her liver transplant when she was 6, they cleaned it all specially that morning.
