3. This website is purely for entertainment and not for financial gain. We do not necessarily endorse any products, services or opinions that may be found on this website, or those websites to which links are provided.

CHILD PROTECTION

5. Children should have the permission of their parent or guardian to use this website (or, indeed, any website).

6. Every effort has been made to keep this website safe for children to use. Other sites to which links are provided are, in themselves, safe for children to use. However it may be possible to follow links out of these sites into others, which we cannot guarantee to be safe. The Internet by its very nature is insecure and we strongly recommend that parents keep themselves aware of the websites their children are visiting, and use the parental control features available on their computer or Internet service.

7. Messages sent to this website are delivered to Tony Salmon's e-mail address and your ISP address and location are automatically tracked when you send a message. Bethany and Eloise have no access to this and will only see messages after they have been checked. There is no facility on this website for children or adults to "chat" or communicate directly with each other.

8. We will only reply to messages sent to this website if a direct question needs answering. Messages will normally be manually posted onto the website within 48 hours.

9. YouTube videos are embedded in this website, but the link facility into the YouTube site has been disabled, and individual videos' addresses are not revealed.

However, in the event of any suspected criminal activity (for example; obscene or threatening messages sent via the website) the Police have the power to obtain this information as part of their investigations.

13. Material on this website is subject to copyright. Items from this website may not be downloaded, printed or copied by any other means. We have no objection to this website being used in schools, children's clubs and other similar settings.

ABOUT BETHANY AND ELOISE

15. Bethany was born in 2003 and within a fortnight was diagnosed as having a serious liver condition. Over the following weeks this was identified as Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis. (PFIC Type 2). This is a "fatal" condition. In other words; without a liver transplant she would be unlikely to survive into her teens. It took almost a year to stabilise her condition, resulting in a permanent naso-gastric feeding tube and 15 doses of various medications every day. As she grew, her strength was failing, and she became less able to take part in physical activity. However, she was very adept with a keyboard and mouse and enjoyed playing on various children's games websites. The next step was obvious - make her own website. Not wanting to be left out, little sister Eloise soon had her own site as well. Bethany's health started to deteriorate rapidly towards the end of 2008 and she was put on the waiting list for a liver transplant. In January 2009 she received her "gift of life" from an anonymous hero who had signed the Organ Donor Register before his death. Although she will be taking a couple of doses of medication every day for the rest of her life, this is a small price to pay as she is now living a normal healthy life, is back at school, winning dancing competitions and still actively campaigning in the media for the Organ Donor Register. Bethany and Eloise recently combined their websites to make this one. It may not be appropriate to put links on here to our family blog but other related sites that may be of interest are the Organ Donor Register (please sign up - it takes two minutes!) or our favourite charities, The Sick Children's Trust and Donna's Dream House who provided us with tremendous practical support. If you want to know more, please contact us through the "Our messages" page and we will gladly point you in the right direction.
